De Bosdreef aims to operate as a referral centre. When additional specialist treatment is required and the referring veterinary surgeon wants to provide optimal care for his patient, the animal can be referred to De Bosdreef where a multidisciplinary team is available at all times to provide the best veterinary care. De Bosdreef keeps permanent contact with many national and international centres to share knowledge about specialised exams and treatments. Nowadays more than 90% of our caseload consists of investigations and treatments of patients from Belgium, the north of France, the south of the Netherlands and the border region of Germany.
We aim to stay in close contact with both the referring veterinary surgeon and the owner to ensure optimal care when the animal has returned home. Comprehensive written reports are provided after every referral and explicit discharge instructions are given the same day to owners and referring veterinary surgeons.
De Bosdreef provides training in the form of extern- and internships to veterinary surgeons and students from different countries. Our veterinary surgeons give lectures at national and international conferences.
De Bosdreef invests a lot in the continuing education of its staff to maintain awareness of the latest innovations and advances in the treatment of horses and small animals.
De Bosdreef conducts an environmental friendly policy. The judicious use of pharmaceuticals and channelled waste disposal are the main areas of concern.
