Consultations in Dierenkliniek De Bosdreef
1. Every consultation, admittance or discharge of a patient is made by appointment. Also for pet-animals we recommend you to make an appointment. So we can provide you with our best service. Date, hour and name of the veterinary surgeon who will be examining your animal will be noted. 2. It is useful to know in advance if the visit to the hospital is for consultation only or if hospitalisation might be necessary. If so we can arrange a stall or a cage for the patient when making the initial appointment. 3. The owner or person responsible for the horse is requested to stay with the horse until the end of the consultation, unless other arrangements are made beforehand. This enables better communication between the veterinary surgeon and the owner about the examinations and suggested treatments. 4. For lameness examinations it is necessary that the person accompanying the horse is able to trot up the horse. The horse should be presented with the shoes on. If necessary we will remove the shoes. In case of intermittent lameness we would like to see the horse when it is clearly lame. No anti-inflammatory medication should be administered unless the horse would otherwise be in unbearable pain. 5. Emergencies can be admitted 24 hours a day, but must always be referred by a veterinary surgeon and a full history should be given. 6. The patients must be treated properly according to their condition and first aid must be administered prior to loading. This increases the chances for a successful outcome. |
